The “LDC Go Green” project of
LDC Hotels & Resorts
Starting from 2018, the LDC Hotels & Resorts Group has redesigned its corporate philosophy introducing the LDC Go Green project: a pro-environmental initiative aimed at promoting eco-sustainable behaviors and specific measures intended to gradually reduce the ecological impact and encourage virtuous attitudes of their staff to invite guests to sustainable behaviour. Procedures, strategies and practices established over the years have been profoundly reformed and optimized to allow LDC hotels play a key role in the environmental challenge faced by the tourism industry to make this sector increasingly sustainable. Find out a wide range of LDC Go Green initiatives and awareness campaigns to raise guests and staff engagement!
#GoGreen, Refill & Reuse
LDC Hotels & Resorts Group is strongly committed to ban all disposable plastic items from its properties and foster the use of recyclable, ecological or compostable products. This farsighted green approach is clearly displayed in our hotel rooms, restaurants and staff canteens. All plastic containers, bottles, wraps, single-use plates, glasses and straws have been replaced by glass or biodegradable products. The amenities available in the room have been carefully redesigned to fully eliminate plastic in favor of recycled paper and natural biodegradable materials.
Save the water!
By declining daily housekeeping service and linen change, we preserve the environment and reduce water and chemicals consumption. Additionally, for each skipped cleaning service guests will receive a gift card for a free drink in our bars. This environmentally friendly insight engages guests who are asked to share a more sustainable culture and reshape their experience, adopting flexible and more responsible behavior without renouncing to comfort and a luxury touch of care.
In addition to the shuttle provided to guests by the hotel, bicycles, e-bikes and electric scooters guarantee the best sustainable mobility in the city. Thanks to many collaborations, our hotels offer the rental service at a preferential rate, also suggesting exclusive itineraries for families or groups of friends in the surrounding parks or countryside.
Reuse, reduce, recycle
The LDC Group promotes separate waste collection in its facilities, providing dedicated bins available for customers, as well as in the premises and service areas for internal staff. Detailed municipal handy guides for waste recycling are also available at the hotel reception desk.
#CO2 next to you – Buy eco-bottles, plant a tree!
LDC GoGreen ecological steel water bottles are on sale at the reception of our A.Roma Lifestyle Hotel. Every 3 bottles purchased, a new tree will be planted in the nearby “Valle dei Casali” Nature Reserve, a protected natural area in the heart of Rome. Nowadays we all know greenhouse gas emissions can be mitigated through their reduction or through forestry offsets of CO2 equivalent. In fact, through the process of photosynthesis, the trees naturally remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and facilitate oxygen production.
Zero waste & Zero Km food
The latest but no less ambitious project is the one involving the large farm at the Villa York estate, next to the park of the A.Roma Lifestyle Hotel and nestled in the heart of the “Valle dei Casali”. In the near future, the hotel restaurants will therefore use fresh, seasonal and self-produced fruit and vegetables from zero kilometer organic and biodynamic farming methods. Moreover, a precious Extra Virgin Olive Oil D.O.P. is produced exclusively from olives grown on our Umbrian estate of 72 hectares with 2,880 productive olive trees, over 28 centuries-old trees and 2 hectares of vineyards.
Recharge & Relax
In the parking area facing the Reception of A.Roma Lifestyle Hotel, 2 new ultra-fast charging stations powered by 100% green renewable energy have been activated. The fast chargers offer sustainable mobility services to hotel guests and it is open to the public, who is able to enjoy the exclusive services of the hotel during the charging time. The station, equipped with 4 CCS sockets for DC fast charging up to 75kW per charging device, is available on the major MSP platforms and related Apps, including Nextcharge, ALL-e, JuicePass.
In addition, in each of the two underground car parks, two alternating current recharging points will be activated for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. The devices are three-phase powered and equipped with a Type 2 socket and allow the recharging of an electric vehicle up to a maximum of 22 kW (with a Type T2 socket).
